A small indigo Japanese placemat woven from natural hemp in the traditional kaya weave, sized for a single plate, a breakfast setting or a tray of tea.
Made by Ban Inoue in Japan, it uses kaya, the light, open weave traditionally used for Japanese mosquito nets. The deep indigo blue has a quiet, timeless feel, and sits beautifully with white porcelain and natural timber. It also works well as a runner-style accent under a vase.
Pairs well with our Indigo Kaya Coaster. Also available as the Small Charcoal Kaya Placemat and Small Persimmon Kaya Placemat, or in a larger size in charcoal and persimmon.
