Azmaya works in close collaboration with artisans, craftsman, and local small-scale manufacturers within Japan to produce high quality contemporary items that celebrate local materials, traditional Japanese handcrafts, and regional techniques.
Since 1997 Tokyo-based Azmaya has supported a range of Japanese artisans in various areas around Japan to continue a long lineage of traditional craft processes imbued with a deep sense of ritual. They have brought these enduring techniques and natural materials forward for the world to enjoy and use for many years to come.
Everyday tools are fundamental to our existence as human beings – for cooking, eating, cleaning, and bathing. Azmaya's various handcrafted objects embody Japanese traditions and are both functional and graceful.
