Product Description
These handcrafted Japanese salt pots are the perfect size for your kitchen counter – for easy access to salt or sugar. Since ancient times pottery vessels has been used for storing and preserving grains, tea leaves, salt, etc. This salt jar continues this ancient way of food storage. Each jar is made with a porous Japanese clay, allowing moisture to be gently absorbed from the salt, and promoting humidity control. To keep this porous nature the interior is left unglazed, and only a thin layer of clay glaze is applied to the exterior.
As every lidded pot is handcrafted, each is unique and will differ slightly from piece to piece.
Available in sizes Small and Large. We recommend pairing with the Wood Salt Spoon, sold separately.
