Product Description
Dishes with simple and fresh ingredients in Japanese and western styles are perfect for the Folklore plate, which is characterised by an open form evoking water rings. This large size is ideal as a main plate, or serving plate.
Marumitsu's Folklore collection consists of pieces inspired by traditional Japanese pottery with a modern twist. Each plate is handmade by skilled craftsmen. The black version is hand painted with a brush – creating circular brush strokes. The grey sabi kairagi colour is made with traditional techniques of first applying a layer of white powder-clay, then by applying traditional Japanese brown glaze, resulting in a unique crackled pattern.
Marumitsu Poterie was established in 1950, and is based in Seto, Japan. Each collection is designed with a French flair to Japanese cookware and tableware. Functionality is always the heart of the design, how each piece is used and how food is plated is always considered when they are designed. Seto is home to kilns with the longest production history in Japan along with local potters that bring a high-quality artisanal touch to the collection.
Available in medium and large sizes.
