Black Folklore Japanese ceramic plate, large, by Marumitsu Poterie

Black Folklore Plate - Large

Marumitsu Poterie
$115.00
7 left

A large black Japanese ceramic plate, handmade in Seto and hand-brushed with circular strokes that evoke rings on water. At around 28 cm across, it works as a main plate or a serving plate.

Part of Marumitsu Poterie's Folklore collection, which draws on traditional Japanese pottery with a modern twist. Each plate is brushed by hand, so the glaze shifts from copper brown through charcoal to black and no two are quite the same. Marumitsu was founded in 1950 in Seto, one of Japan's oldest pottery centres, and designs every piece around how food is served and plated.

Prefer something smaller? See the Medium Black Folklore Plate. Pairs well with our Black Folklore Angled Bowl and Black Folklore Straight Bowl. For tea or sake, add the Folklore Cup – Black.
