A Nippon Kodo Oedo-Koh incense gift set in Aloeswood, with the deep, rich fragrance prized by the people of old Edo as the most luxurious of scents. It's presented in a paulownia wood box with a tin incense holder, a lovely choice for gifting.

Incense-smelling ceremonies were enjoyed by the elite, while commoners showed their fascination through Kabuki and Joruri theatre, and the word kyara (aloeswood) became synonymous with "something wonderful". Nippon Kodo's incense tradition began in 1575 with Koju, the principal provider of rare and exquisite aromas to the Emperor of Japan and his court.

Also available in Chrysanthemum, Cherry Blossoms and Pine Tree. Also see the Jinkoh Juzan Aloeswood Gift Set.

Nippon Kodo

Nippon Kodo's devotion to making fine Japanese Incense follows a long and honoured tradition that started in 1575. This spans over 400 years ago, and can be traced back to Jyuemon Takai, better known as Koju. He was a skilled artisan in the art and the principal provider of precious rare and exquisite aromas to the Emperor of Japan and his court. Many of those pleasing and enduring high-quality Japanese Incense fragrances, which the company continues to produce to this day, are based on the original formulas created by Koju and later by Yujiro Kito.
