A traditional Japanese bizen ware sake set - a type of pottery recognised for its beauty and durability. Featuring a textured unglazed wood fired finish, this sake bottle and cup is sure to add a touch of tradition and elegance to any dining experience.
The exterior and interior of the ceramic has a smooth tactile finish due to it being wood fired and left unglazed – honouring the clays natural beauty.
Bizen ware or Bizen-yaki (備前焼) is a type of Japanese pottery traditionally from Bizen province, presently a part of Okayama prefecture. Bizen is characterized by significant hardness due to high temperature kiln firing. Common earthen-like, reddish-brown colours appear due to the absence of glaze and organic markings resulting from the wood firing process.
