Japanese porcelain incense burner in charcoal matte

Porcelain Incense Burner

WDH
$140.00
3 left

A handcrafted Japanese porcelain incense burner in a charcoal matte finish, presented in a wooden gift box with a nonflammable mat. The lid is inspired by the form of flower petals, and the knob is designed in the image of a jewel. Burn the incense of your choice to scent the space and enjoy a moment of peace and tranquillity, or, in summertime, use it for mosquito coils.

Each piece is carefully crafted by artisans in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, a pottery centre with over 400 years of history. Fragrance has been part of Japanese life since ancient times, from the incense appreciation of the Heian period (794–1192) to practical uses such as insect repellents, and the culture of incense remains widely loved today. WDH works with Japanese craftsmen to continue traditional skills.

Pairs well with Kousaido and Nippon Kodo Japanese incense. Also see the WDH Black Urushi Lacquer range.
