A large Japanese rectangle plate, handcrafted for Marumitsu Poterie from black earthenware clay. Its natural, rustic feel captures the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, and it's recommended for serving tempura, sashimi and grilled fish.
Each plate is slab built, crafted one by one by the artisan's hands, so the form and glaze vary subtly from piece to piece. Founded in 1950 in Seto, home to some of Japan's longest-running kilns, Marumitsu designs each collection with a French flair, always considering how a piece will be used and how food will be plated.
