A large round Japanese iraka plate in a natural, earthy glaze, handcrafted in Shigaraki. With a flat design, edged lip and unglazed exterior, it's perfect for serving main meals.
Made by Marui Seito, a third-generation Shigaraki-yaki potter. Shigaraki, in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, is one of Japan's six ancient kilns, with a roughly 1,260-year history of ceramic craft, and Shigaraki-yaki was designated a traditional craft of Japan in 1976.
