Daiyo sumac wax candles No. 4, set of 3

Sumac Wax Candles No. 4 (Set of 3)

Daiyo
$50.00
5 left

Traditional Japanese candles by Daiyo, individually and meticulously handcrafted by Japanese artisans from 100% natural, local sumac (haze) wax. Only 10 craftsmen are left in the world who produce this traditional type of candle.

Each wick is hand-rolled: washi paper is rolled and wrapped with rush weed, then held in place with silk fibres. Suitable for home use, the candles don't produce soot or smoke, and the melted wax doesn't overflow. Daiyo was established in 1914 in Takashima, Shiga Prefecture, and its craft has been passed down across four generations.

Looking for something smaller? See the Sumac Wax Candles No. 2. Pairs well with our Takazawa Koma Candle Stand – Medium.
