This traditional Bizen Ware Rice Bowl is perfect for enjoying a perfectly cooked bowl of rice. Made from Japanese wood fired Bizen Ware and handcrafted by master artisans, each bowl is one of a kind and perfect for any collection.

Each bowl comes packaged in its own individual hand signed and stamped wooden box for safe keeping.

The exterior and interior of the ceramic has a smooth tactile finish due to it being wood fired and left unglazed – honouring the clays natural beauty.

Bizen ware  or Bizen-yaki (備前焼) is a type of Japanese pottery traditionally from Bizen province, presently a part of Okayama prefecture. 

Bizen is characterized by significant hardness due to high temperature kiln firing. Common earthen-like, reddish-brown colours appear due to the absence of glaze and organic markings resulting from the wood firing process.
