Bizen ware (Bizen-yaki, 備前焼) is one of Japan's oldest forms of pottery, traditionally from Bizen province in what is now Okayama Prefecture. Wood-fired and left unglazed inside and out, it has a smooth, tactile finish and takes on earthy, reddish-brown tones and organic markings from the kiln. Handmade by the Mugenan studio in Inbe, Bizen City.
