Kukan Chuzo, a brand and cast iron workshop founded in 2009 by Japanese craftsman Hisao Iwashimizu, proposes ironware that pursues the Japanese Aesthetic Sense of “Yo-no-bi" – Beauty of Everyday Things. 

Hisao's workship is nestled within the Mizusawa area of Iwate Prefecture – an area renowned for Nambu ironware. He comes from an ironware family, and creates pieces that are elegantly understated and minimalist in form. His cast iron works embrace both traditional and modern whilst respecting the natural texture, colour, and qualities of cast iron.

The Egg Teapot is characterised by minimal organic forms inspired by nature, an enamelled interior for superior heat retention, and a removable stainless steel filter to easily brew loose tea. The teapots surface is finished with a technique called "yakihada-hakoshi" (burnished surafce polishing) which allows the natural qualities of the iron to surface.

This small size holds approximately 250ml of tea.
