Antique Hagi Ware Tea Set

An antique Japanese hagi ware teaware set from the Meji period. Featuring the characteristic natural and subdued colours and crackled finish of Hagi ware, this hōhin handleless teapot, pouring vessel, and set of five tea cups are sure to elevate your tea-making experience. 

The hōhin handleless teapot has small holes cut out of the clay at the wall near the pouring spout, as an internal filter for loose tea leaves. The handless teapot is hand stamped at the base by the potter, and all pieces come packaged inside their original wooden box.

Hagi ware (萩焼, Hagi-yaki) is a type of Japanese pottery traditionally originating from the town of Hagi, Yamaguchi, in the former Nagato Province.
