Light Stoneware House Sculpture II
This petite sculpture has been made with various handbuilding processes. These ancient techniques have been used for many of thousands of years. This approach to making pottery allows it to be created without pottery wheels, using only the makers hands and simple tools. I gravitate towards this way of making as it shows evidence of the human hand – the human being behind the work.
Each piece takes many hours to days to form by hand, then allowing time to dry for a period of 2-4 weeks before the kiln firing process.
Each sculpture comes apart in two pieces.
Handbuilt in Perth, Australia.
Unglazed light stoneware clay.
Measurements: approximately 5.5cm tall x 6cm wide.
