Product Description
An Ikebana vase is a vessel used to arrange flowers according to the Japanese style of flower arranging, "Ikebana". Ikebana vases are typically simple, minimalist, and in muted colours and tones and are often made from natural materials, such as ceramic.
This Ikebana Vase has been made with various hand building processes, these ancient techniques have been used for many of thousands of years. This approach to making pottery allows it to be created without pottery wheels, using only the makers hands and simple tools. I gravitate towards this way of making as it shows evidence of the human hand – the human being behind the work.
Each piece is individually formed by hand, then allowing time to dry for a period of 2-4 weeks before the kiln firing process.
Each piece may differ slightly from the one photographed, as they are each hand-built – holding individual uniqueness.
