Product Description
A multipurpose lightweight cotton cloth that has been hand dyed with a natural dye of charcoal (also known as "Nanbusumi-Zome") in Iwate prefecture, Japan. A gentle grey colour emerges from the dyeing process, also imparting antibacterial qualities.
This method of achieving colour is environmentally friendly. Artisans in Iwate prefecture reuse local resources of pulverised coal (a by-product) to prepare this natural dye solution.
