Shigaraki is located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, and is recognised as playing a significant part in the long history of Japanese ceramics. It is included as one of Japan's six old kilns – being said to have a history of 1260 years. In 1976 Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.
Hechimon is a collection of Japanese ceramics by a third-generation Shigaraki-yaki maker, Marui Seito. This handcrafted Japanese dish is the perfect size as a base to the shizuka incense cones. A petite unglazed dish with a brushed rim. As every dish is handcrafted and hand glazed, each is unique and will differ slightly from piece to piece.
The ball incense holder in dark stoneware can be nestled inside the brushed rim dish for a complete incense holder.
The forest incense sticks are a refreshing and woody scent inspired by the stillness and freshness of a Japanese forest. A scent containing sandalwood, juniper, and rosemary. Burning this incense brings forth the calm of remote forest landscapes.
This lightweight storage and gift box is made from thin shavings of pine wood. Similar to the Kyougi wood food wraps, these thin sheets are traditionally used to wrap around food. Instead of a flat sheet, they have been bent and cut to hold the shape of a small box. A perfect little box to hold and store the ceramic dish and ball incense holder for a special gift set.
