An antique Japanese shino ware teaware set. Featuring a traditional crackled shino glaze, this hōhin handleless teapot and set of five tea cups are sure to elevate your tea-making experience. 

The hōhin handleless teapot has small holes cut out of the clay at the wall near the pouring spout, as an internal filter for loose tea leaves. Each piece is hand signed at the base by the potter, and comes packaged inside its original wooden box.

Shino ware (or Shino-yaki) is a type of Japanese pottery, originally from Mino Provience, in presen-day Gifu Prefecture, Japan. During the 16th century the use of shino glaze emerged, which is characterised by thick white glazes and textures. The use of shino glaze is now widespread, both within Japan and abroad.
