Product Description
This teacup is made of Tokoname-yaki, a typical pottery from Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The iron oxide mixed into the clay reacts with the tannin in the tea, helping to remove the astringency and bitterness of the tea – giving it a mellow taste.Yakishime is fired at high temperatures without glaze, giving it a rustic and tasteful appearance that brings out the characteristics of the clay itself.
These Japanese cups are the perfect size for tea. The naturally brown coloured clay brings an earthy feel to the home.
